Vitrum Glass Group: Fabricated Architectural Glass

What they make: IG, tempered, laminated and heat-soaked glass, including oversized and bird-friendly solutions (BirdOptik), plus Title 24 performance, digital print and silkscreen. Vitrum is a licensed fabricator for Vitro and Guardian, working from a 400,000+ sq ft plant in Langley, BC.

Local value-add: Vitrum builds to excess capacity to hold a 4-week maximum door-to-door lead time into California. Every lite is QR-tracked through inspection, and TrueForm guarantees 0.003" max roll wave. I can arrange plant tours, in person or virtual, and help with makeups and submittals. The short version: glass that arrives "on-time, completed, and to spec."

What they make: Fabricator-friendly curtain wall and window wall (stick or unitized), storefront and entrances, architectural windows, ADA/FHA-compliant terrace doors, and pre-engineered sunshades.

Local value-add: I represent YKK AP's Engineered Projects Division, the team that handles engineered, spec-driven projects. These typically need a dedicated project manager, customized systems, a takeoff from the plans and specs, and more complex detailing. Standard stock orders go through YKK AP's local branches. On Engineered Projects work, I help match systems and options to your performance and acoustic targets (tested up to STC 39). In-person plant tours in Atlanta and Rancho Cucamonga.

Super Sky: Monumental Skylights & Canopies

What they make: Standard and custom skylights, point-supported canopies and overhead glazing. Super Sky designs, fabricates, installs and renovates, with 100 years in business and more than 11,000 projects.

Local value-add: Super Sky also repairs and reglazes existing skylights from any manufacturer, and I present their AIA course on overhead glazing. In-person plant tours are available.

Armor Apply: Protective Coatings Subcontractor

What they do: Armor Apply is a subcontractor that installs and removes Protectapeel peelable protection and applies anti-graffiti coatings. They work union or non-union and are OSHA certified.

Local value-add: Fewer damaged lites and finishes, and shorter punch lists. I help get protection into the spec or the bid scope early.

Landmark Facade Solutions: Engineered Glass and Metal Systems

Territory: California, Nevada & Hawaii

What they make: Landmark is a full-service metal system manufacturer that supplies engineered systems to the glazing and metal trades and works with architects to make complex designs buildable. Glass: glass fin and vision walls, cable and tension-rod walls, double-skin and steel curtain wall, glass canopies, ceilings and skylights, railings and wind screens, and glass floors and stairs, plus supply of jumbo, bent, low-iron, fritted and embedded-mesh glass. Metal: sunshades, louvers and brise-soleil (aluminum, stainless steel and terracotta), metal fins and glazed-in panels for curtain wall, garage screens, rainscreens and ceilings, and perforated panels (laser, waterjet or punched) in PVDF, powder coat or custom wood, stone, copper and Corten finishes. Landmark is a turnkey provider of shop drawings, calcs and materials.

Local value-add: I help you scope one-off feature walls and sunshades early, while there's still room to shape them.

Erie Architectural Products: Unitized Curtain Wall

Territory: California & Nevada

What they make: Turnkey unitized and stick curtain wall for complex design-assist projects, backed by in-house 3D/BIM, submission and production engineering, blast/seismic engineering and thermal modeling. YKK AP is Erie's parent company.

Local value-add: Erie's on-site testing center is third-party validated by Intertek (air/water, thermal cycling, vertical and seismic movement). I bring their design-assist team in early on projects where unitized makes sense, and I present a Unitized vs. Stick Curtain Wall session (not AIA-accredited).
