ABOUT ME

I’m Russell Williams: an engineer who has run glazing projects, not just sold them. Before I founded Architectural Insider in 2018, I was a project engineer and project manager for a glazing contractor, then an architectural sales manager for a curtain wall manufacturer

I have a degree in architectural engineering and a PE license, so I can work through thermal, structural, acoustic and movement questions with you, then bring in the manufacturer’s engineers for verification and/or stamped work.

I’ve managed glazing contracts from storefront to unitized curtain wall. Before a system goes into your drawings, I look at access, fabrication, material handling, installation sequence and long-term maintenance.

ABOUT THE COMPANY

I represent manufacturers that cover glass, framing, unitized and structural systems, skylights and protection. I chose each one for the quality of what it delivers, and the architects and contractors who use them keep coming back. I bring each one only to projects that fit what it does best.

I encourage architects to bring me in at concept or schematic design. I’ll help you narrow the system options, set realistic performance criteria and catch detail issues while they’re still cheap to fix. Consultations are free for architects.

For glazing contractors, I support quick budgets, bidding, value-engineering, submittals, and installation sequence review. It's become cliche to mention quality, but I specifically chose work with manufacturers that deliver on this promise.
